(Whats the Story) Morning Glory

Whats the Story Morning Glory Review
If Definitely Maybe was the ranting of an unemployed, wanna be Rock'n'Roll star, then (what’s The Story) Morning Glory is what happens when you become a Rock'n'Roll Star.

You can certainly tell Noel Gallagher is a little older and a little wiser – and I use that with some caution.

His 3 chord Rock'n'Roll song writing has moved on to all out orchestral epic songs such as “Champagne Supernova”. You can also tell he is a lot more confident tackling backing vocals, and even singing lead on the hugely popular “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.

Morning Glory defined a generation, with classics that sum up the 90’s. The singles “Don’t Look Back In Anger”, “Wonderwall”, “Roll With It” & “Some Might Say” made a massive impact in the charts and was a testament to their success. However Morning Glory is also known for two songs, which were never released as singles. The seven & a half minuet epic that is “Champagne Supernova”, a glimpse of the brilliant things to come from the band, but also a warning of not knowing when to stop. And the title track “Morning Glory”. Very much a back to basics all out Rock'n'Roll song which captures the power of Oasis and Noel’s song writing skills. This is a very rare thing to have. To have two songs that are remembered as classics even by people who aren’t fans, off an album which were never released as a singles.

(What’s The Story) Morning Glory” is one of those “Must Have” albums, which should be in anyone’s record collection. It’s up there with the best.

It defined a generation, you sang along to it, drank with it, and have probably shagged to it. Maybe not considered their best album but it is certainly a must if not only for nostalgic purposes.
